Why we started it
I moved to Delhi, where the air is some of the worst in the world and some days it is hard to breathe. I had over 40 conversations with people here about purifiers. Most either did not own one or hid it behind a couch because it was ugly, which also meant it barely worked. We flipped it: a plant you want in the middle of the room, with a HEPA purifier and a scent diffuser inside the pot.
What I did
- As the only technical person on the team, I researched and learned hardware from scratch: PCB design, moulding, assembly, airflow.
- Designed the PCB myself: fan control, sensors, battery management, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
- Flew to China, met 18 manufacturers and came back with a supplier for every part.
- Designed the air-profile flow for the companion app.
- Ran all operations, from incorporating in India to setting up assembly.
Where it is now
A working prototype is in testing and over 280 people are on the waitlist. We are in talks with angel investors and government grants. We are expanding the team with more technical people and are ready for production: 500 units targeted for Jan or Feb 2027, assembled in India. Two products on the site, Home Jali and Home Column, with a Pro line planned.
